Sermon - 1 Cor 2:1-5 - My last Sunday sermon at City

As the title suggests, this was my final preach at City as Assistant Pastor.

I was given freedom to choose what I wanted to preach and the temptation was always to ham it up, get the tears flowing and be the hero... Or when I was a bit less down about it being my final sermon, to give some "sturdy advice" to all and sundry.

But this was also the first Sunday after our weeks of local outreach. We'd touched many hundreds of lives, and so we expected a number of visitors. So I decided to do what I love the most and preach about Jesus.

In order to keep myself from blubbing, I thought I should speak quickly. Quickly is good. Quickly beats tears. Quickly is manly.

Anyway. Here's the link.

Hello World!

Well, here we are.

It was announced today, both in Leeds and in Worthing, that I'll be the new Senior Pastor at the Worthing Tabernacle. Hooray!  It's been a long time in the making, but we trust in our kind Father that this is the right time and the right place.

We'll be leaving Leeds in early August and starting out in Worthing early September.

I'm really going to miss my family here at City Evangelical Church. There has been so much support, love, prayers and goodwill towards us during our whole time here. I'm going to try and use this blog as a place to keep people posted about what is going on, and share some other thoughts and bits along the way.

Glory to Jesus!
